About ICME
The International Conference on the Measurement of Energy (ICME 2026), to be held under the aegis of IMEKO’s TC20 in Sohra (Cherrapunjee), Meghalaya from 7–9 October 2026, will bring together global experts in metrology, instrumentation, energy systems, and related fields. As part of IMEKO, a non-governmental federation, established in 1958 devoted to promoting international exchange of scientific and technical information in measurement, and enhancing cooperation among researchers and industry worldwide , the conference will provide a premier forum for sharing cutting-edge developments in energy measurement, instrumentation standards, calibration, and sustainable energy solutions. The ICME 2026 aims to foster collaboration among academics, industry professionals and young researchers, facilitating knowledge transfer, rigorous technical discussions, and innovative research directions. Set against the backdrop of Meghalaya’s unique landscape, the event will also offer participants a culturally rich and intellectually stimulating environment, bridging global metrology standards with local energy and sustainability challenges.

About the organizers
The ICME 2026 is organized jointly by the NIT Meghalaya, IMEKO – Technical Committee 20 (TC20), and the Metrology Society of India (MSI). NIT Meghalaya, Sohra, Meghalaya, India, an Institute of National Importance under Ministry of Education, Govt of India, offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc., and PhD in engineering, sciences, and management, with a strong emphasis on research, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning in emerging areas of science and technologies. IMEKO TC20, operating under the International Measurement Confederation, focuses on advancing scientific and technical knowledge related to energy measurement and metrology through international conferences, working groups, and collaborative research initiatives. The Metrology Society of India (MSI), a professional body supporting the Indian metrology ecosystem, promotes education, training programs, workshops, and professional development activities aimed at strengthening measurement science and standards across academia, research institutions, and industry. Together, these organizations provide a strong academic, scientific, and professional foundation for ICME 2026.
